Ritzert sixth at Susquehanna Multi

SELINSGROVE, Pa.--Sophomore Jalen Ritzert (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) posted a sixth-place finish in the decathlon Friday at the Susquehanna University Multi and Invitational.

The event was held Thursday and Friday at Susquehanna's Amos Alonzo Staff Field at Doug Arthur Stadium.

Ritzert finished with 4,707 points during the two-day, 10-event decathlon program. In eighth place (2,357) following Thursday's five events, he won the 1500 meters (5:07.91) and finished second in the javelin (41.08m, 134-09) and the pole vault (3.60m, 11-09.75), fifth in the discus (27.14m, 89-00) and seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (18.70). Thursday, he finished fifth in the high jump (1.66m, 5-05.25), seventh in the 400 meters (56.58) and shot put (8.53m, 28-00), 10th in the long jump (4.78m, 15-08.25) and 11th in the 100 meters (12.43).

Westminster will host its annual spring invitational this weekend. Friday, the hammer will be contested at Slippery Rock University, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The remaining events will be held Saturday in New Wilmington, starting at 9:45 a.m.
