Titans conclude first day at Myrtle Beach Challenge

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--The Westminster College men's outdoor track and field program opened the season at the two-day Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge Friday. 

The 22-team event is being hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach and held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. 

Westminster is currently in 11th place with 13 points. 

Senior Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa., Karns City) and freshman Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) finished fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles with Kamenski registering a time of 15.62 seconds and Mull a time of 16.54 in the finals.

Westminster's 4x400-meter "A" relay finished in third place with a time of 3:33.94. Kamenski, Mull, sophomore Benjamin White (Warren, Pa., Warren) and graduate student Ryan Beard (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional) made up the third-place relay. 

Beard was 10th in the semifinals of the 100 meters (11.01) and Mull finished 11th in the long jump (6.23m, 20-05.25).  

The second and final day of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m. Saturday with the remaining four field events. The final 16 track events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
