Kamenski wins 400 hurdles at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va.--Westminster College senior Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa., Karns City) won the 400-meter hurdles to help guide the men's outdoor track and field program to a fifth-place finish at Saturday's Bethany College Invitational. 

Kamenski won the event with a time of 56.45 seconds. He also posted a fourth-place finish in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles with at time of 15.65. Kamenski was a DNS in the finals of the 110 hurdles. 

Sophomore Jalen Ritzert (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) was the runner-up in the pole vault with a height of 3.15 meters (10-04.00). 

Freshman Kory White (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) finished fifth in both the high jump (1.75m, 5-08.75) and triple jump (11.80m, 38-08.75). 

Sophomore Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) finished seventh in 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 14:08.72. Freshman Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) was seventh in the discuss with a personal-best throw of 38.71m (127-00). Freshman Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) finished seventh in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 13.77m (45-02.25). Senior Ryan Armstrong (Pocono Summit, Pa., Pocono Mountain West) was eighth in the 1500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:23.69.

Westminster's "A" relay finished second in the 4x100 with a season-best time of 43.63. Members of the relay include Kamenski, freshman Matthew Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell), sophomore Benjamin White (Warren, Pa., Warren) and graduate student Ryan Beard (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional).

Westminster's "A" relay won the 4x400 with a time of 3:48.28. Members of the relay included Kamenski, Essey, freshman Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) and Beard. 

Westminster is set to compete in the West Virginia University Invitational Saturday, March 23. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. in Morgantown, W.Va. at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park.
