Beard, Patton earn first-place finishes at Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.--Westminster College seniors Ryan Beard (Murrysville, Pa. | Franklin Regional) and Jacob Patton (Harrisville, Pa. | Moniteau) ran to first-place finishes Saturday at Slippery Rock University's Dave Labor Invitational.

Beard registered a first-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 10.75 seconds. Patton was first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.07.

Junior Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa. | Karns City) posted a third-place finish in the 400 hurdles (57.67) and was seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (16.44).

The 4x100-meter relay finished seventh with a time of 43.10. Relay members included senior Deondre McKeever (Youngstown, Ohio | Austintown Fitch), Patton, Kamenski and Beard.

Senior Hunter Linhart (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Plum) was ninth in the discus (39.85m, 13-09) and sophomore Mason Manos (New Castle, Pa. | Neshannock) was ninth in the javelin (47.10m, 154-06).

Westminster will participate in the Grove City College Invitational Wednesday at Robert E. Thorn Field. The Titans will host the annual Westminster Invitational next Friday-Saturday, April 7-8. The hammer throw will be contested Friday at Slippery Rock. Saturday's events will begin at 10 a.m. at Memorial Field inside Harold Burry Stadium in New Wilmington.
