Men's cross country 9th at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH--The Westminster College men's cross country team finished in ninth place Saturday afternoon at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. 

The eight-kilometer event was run at Schenley Park. 

Carnegie Mellon won the event with 41 points. California (Pa.) finished second with 83 points. Westminster finished with 234 points. 

CMU alumni Michael Obrion won the individual title with a time of 25 minutes and 14.2 seconds. 

Junior Dane Fasick (New Brighton, Pa., New Brighton) was 43th with a time of 29:43.5. Freshman Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) finished 44th (29:59.4) and sophomore Justin Redilla (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) finished 45th (30:19.5). Senior Caden Harsh (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin) was 50th (31:22.2) and freshman Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) was 52nd (31:29.6). Graduate student Ian Jackson (Neshannock, Pa., Neshannock) finished 58th (34:14.8) and sophomore Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) finished 60th (35:41.4)

Westminster will compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Saturday, October 28 at Thiel. The men's race is scheduled for 11 a.m.
