Men's cross country ninth in preseason coaches' poll

TRAFFORD, Pa.--The Westminster College men's cross country program was picked to finish ninth in this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. The 2025 poll, voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches, was announced with the PAC's Players to Watch List Wednesday morning.

Led by 19th-year head coach Tim McNeil, Westminster received 47 points in the coaches' poll. This year's Westminster roster features 11 runners, including five freshmen, four juniors and a pair of seniors.

Geneva, last year's runner-up, claimed the top spot with 112 points and five first-place votes. Grove City was second with 98 points and one first-place vote while defending champion Franciscan was third with 96 points and three first-place votes. Allegheny was fourth with 94 points and a pair of first place votes. W&J was fifth with 87 points and Saint Vincent was sixth with 85 points and the final first-place vote. 

The Titans had five named to this year's Runners to Watch List: senior Justin Redilla (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley), junior Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) and freshmen Nicholas Bender (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock), Dillon Brunner (Pittsburgh, Pa., Upper Saint Clair) and Phillip Silvis (Harmony, Pa., Seneca Valley)

Westminster was seventh at the 2024 PAC Championships. Koehler finished 64th with a time of 29 minutes, 55.50 seconds, while Redilla was 82nd with a time of 31:08.20.

Westminster begins its season Friday evening as the host of the College's annual Fisher Invitational. The five-kilometer event begins with the women's race at 6:45 p.m., followed by the men's race at 7:15 p.m. The PAC Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1 hosted by Allegheny. The women's six-kilometer race will get things going at 11 a.m., followed by the men's eight-kilometer race at 12 p.m.
