RESULTS
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed against non-conference foe Penn State Behrend in their season- and home-opener on Saturday.
The Titan women (1-0) won against Penn State Behrend (2-1), 182-103, and the Titan men (0-1) lost to the Lions (3-0), 150-144. The women won 12 events and the men won six.
For the Titan women, seniors
Marissa Bowers (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Cuyahoga Falls) and
Anna Grimenstein (Bridgeville, PA / Homeschooled) teamed with first-year
Bryce Matolyak (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Cuyahoga Falls) and junior
Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) to earn a win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:59:62. Bowers also grabbed a win in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:05:19. Grimenstein grabbed a victory in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21:60 and in the 100 butterfly, finishing at 1:03:58. Horvath won in the 50 freestyle at 25:73 and the 100 freestyle with a 57:50. Senior GAYNER ROSSI (Trenton, MI / Trenton) registered a 195.90 in the one meter dive, earning the victory. Senior
Megan Routch (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) tallied a win in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:47:26.
For the Titan men, first-year
Connor Fritz (Canfield, OH / Canfield) earned a win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54:65 and in the 200 backstroke at 2:05:52. Junior
Stephen Adametz (Glenshaw, PA / Shaler Area) grabbed a win in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 2:09:38. Senior
Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) won in the 50 freestyle, finishing at 22:39, while classmate
Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill) earned the win in the one-meter dive with a 273 and the three-meter dive with 350.26. Senior
Austin Shaw (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) earned second-place in both the one-meter dive (239.78) and the three-meter dive (323.85). Both Holton and Shaw registered regional scores for their dives.
The Titans are back in action Saturday, October 30 as they travel to Washington, Pa. to compete against Washington and Jefferson in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
