Four earn Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Four members of the Westminster College men's swimming and diving program were recently recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors. 

Seniors Patrick Benedict (Pittsburgh, Pa., Upper St. Clair), Steel Boyer (Mohrsville, Pa., Schuylkill Valley) and Michael Phillips (Saxonburg, Pa., Knoch) along with sophomore Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro), were honored. 

Benedict, a marketing and professional sales and sports management double major, carries a 3.55 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). He is a four-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll twice. He is two-time Academic All-District® selection. 

Boyer, a computer science major, carries a 3.60 cumulative GPA. He has been named to the College's Dean's List in the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022. 

A finance major, Phillips maintains a 3.58 cumulative GPA. He is a three-time Dean's List selection and has been a PAC Academic Honor Roll selection once. At this year's PAC Championships, was he finished in third place as a member of Westminster's 800 free 'A' relay (7:19.59), fourth as a member of the 400 medley 'A' relay (3:42.48) and fifth as a member of the 200 medley 'A' relay (1:40.32). Individually, Phillips was sixth in the 200 breast (2:17.69) and eighth in the 400 IM (4:37.16). He earned Second Team All-PAC twice (2021-22, 2023-24). Phillips has been named an Academic All-District® selection twice. 

A history major, Webster maintains a 3.97 cumulative GPA. He has been named to the College's Dean's List twice and was a PAC Academic Honor Roll recipient last spring. At the PAC Championships, Webster finished fourth as a member of the 400 medley 'A' relay (3:42.48) and was fifth as a member of the 200 free 'A' relay (1:32.20). 

Westminster concluded its season with a fourth-place finish at the PAC Championships in February.
