GENEVA, Ohio – Westminster College sophomore
Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) in the men's javelin and first-year
Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) in the women's pole vault both competed in the first day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday at the SPIRE Institute.
Anderson, who was making his first appearance in Nationals (Outdoor or Indoor), finished 13th out of 20 throwers with a mark of 183'5.75" (55.92m). Anderson was the first javelin National qualifier for Westminster since 2012 (Ryan Bell).
Gossard, who was making her first trip to Outdoor Nationals (she also competed in Indoors), finished 10th out of 22 with a vault of 12'3.5" (3.75m), only an inch from tying her personal record.
Titan senior
Jaevon Hardy (Waldorf, MD / North Point) will compete in the men's 100 Friday, May 24 in the preliminaries at 3:45 p.m. Hardy is currently sixth in the nation with a 100 time of 10.54.
This year's Nationals marked only the second time Westminster has had Titans qualify in three different events and the first since 2008.
The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American honors. The top 20 male and top 22 female times/marks in each event along top 16 relay teams in the nation have qualified for the meet.
