OBERLIN, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at Oberlin College for the BSN Sports Oberlin Invitational Friday.
For the Titan men, senior
Jake Kaylor (Export, PA / Greensburg Salem) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.02, while junior
Tim Maxwell (Washington, PA / McGuffey) finished first in the pole vault with a jump of 14 feet (4.27m). First-year
Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) finished top five in multiple events including third out of 16 in the 60 (7.27) and fourth out of 19 in the 200 (23.88). Sams was also the second leg of the first-place 4x400-meter relay team (3:40.14), along with junior C.J. Hilbert (Alliance, OH / Marlington), sophomore
Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau), and senior
Jaevon Hardy (Waldorf, MD / North Point). Hardy also placed third in the 400 (53.34). Anderson finished first in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet 11.25 inches (1.81m) and added a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.05).
For the Titan women, sophomore
Selena Thomas (Farrell, PA / Farrell Area) won two individual events: the 60 (8.15) and the 200 (27.05). Thomas was also the last leg of the first-place 4x400 relay team (4:33.30), along with junior
Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview), senior
Nicole Cress (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch), and sophomore
Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic). First-year
Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) took home first place in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet and 3.5 inches (3.75m). Belding also finished third in the 400 (1:03.95), while Ward placed third in the 800 (2:32.53). First-year
Jill Douglas (Fairhaven, MA / Fairhaven) placed second in the long jump with a jump of 16 feet and 3.25 inches 4.96m). Sophomore
Natalie Schwarz (Hudson, OH / Hudson) placed third in the 60 (8.35).
