NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected the women's indoor track & field team as its Titan Athletes of the Week.
 
Westminster won the 2019 PAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday. The title marked the Titans' second official PAC championship in school history (2016). Westminster 12th-year head coach Tim McNeil '96 was voted the league's Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, his second. Sophomore Selena Thomas (Farrell, PA / Farrell Area) won three events, two coming in record-breaking fashion. Thomas won the 60 with a time of 8.03 (she broke her own school-record she set in last year's PAC's preliminaries with a time of 8.00 at this year's prelims), and placed first in the long jump with a school-record mark of 17-02.00 (5.23m). Thomas also placed first in the 200, clocking in at 26.74. Sophomore Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) won the 800 with a school-record time of 2:21.84. Also earning a first-place finish was first-year Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) who won the pole vault with a jump of 12-05.25 (3.79m).

Select members of the Westminster teams will be competing in the two-day 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, starting on Friday, March 1, at the New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York, NY.
