YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster College women's indoor track & field team won the 2019 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday. Youngstown State University hosted the event.
 
The title marked Westminster's second official PAC championship in school history (2016). Westminster 12th-year head coach Tim McNeil '96 was voted the league's Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, his second. The Titans won the league's unofficial championships in 2013 and 2014.
 
The Titan women won with 124 points. The Titan men placed fourth with 77.5 points.
 
Sophomore Selena Thomas (Farrell, PA / Farrell Area) led the Titan women's team as she won three events, two coming in record-breaking fashion. Thomas won the 60 with a time of 8.03 (she broke her own school-record she set in last year's PAC's preliminaries with a time of 8.00 at this year's prelims), and placed first in the long jump with a mark of 17-02.00 (5.23m), breaking Alisha Slater jump of 5.19 in 2012. Thomas also placed first in the 200, clocking in at 26.74, which was only .29 away from breaking another school record.
 
Senior Jaevon Hardy (Waldorf, MD / North Point) led the Titan men's team as he not only broke two school records in his pair of victories, but two PAC Championship records as well. Hardy placed first in the 60 with a time of 6.77 and won the 200 at 21.92, both breaking his own records in PAC-record times. The 200 title was Hardy's second, while the 60 championship was his third.
 
Also for the Titan women, sophomore Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) won the 800 (for the second-straight year) with a time of 2:21.84., breaking Megan Simpson's 2:22.12 (2017). Thomas and Ward were also part of the 4x400-meter relay that placed second (4:19.77). Completing the quartet were junior Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview) and senior Nicole Cress (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch).
 
Also earning a first-place finish was first-year Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) who won the pole vault with a jump of 12-05.25 (3.79m).
 
Junior Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) placed second in the 5,000-meter run with a school-record time of 18:51.79, breaking Katelynn Morrell's (2018) time of 18:57.14. Schrantz added a third-place time in the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 10:50.94.
 
Adding third-place finishes were Cress (200/27.18), Belding (400/1:02.42), sophomore Julia Strobel (New Castle, PA / Wilmington Area) (pole vault/3.19m), and sophomore Megan Parker (Mercer, PA / Mercer Area) (shot put/10.66m).
 
Also for the Titan men, junior Tim Maxwell (Washington, PA / McGuffey) won the pole vault with a jump of 14-11.50 (4.56m).
 
Sophomore Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) placed second in the high jump (21.87m) and third in the 60-hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.63 (only .05 seconds from breaking a school record). Freshman Jonathan Micsky (Greenville, PA / Greenville) added a third in the pole vault (4.16m).
