GENEVA, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at Oberlin College for the Dan Kinsey Invitational on Friday.
For the Titan men, first-year
Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) finished first in the 200 with a time of 23.91. Sams also finished second in the 60 with a time of 7.23. Sams was also the first leg of the first-place 4x200-meter relay team (1:36.94), along with junior
Bryce Hill (Boynton Beach, FL / Boca Raton Community), sophomore
Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau), and first-year
Vincent Giles (Lexington Park, MD / Great Mills). Anderson finished first in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.97 and finished tied for first in the high jump with a height of 1.80m. Hill also finished third in the 60 with a time of 7.42 seconds. Giles finished second in the 200 with a time of 24.20. Junior C.J. Hilbert (Alliance, OH / Marlington) finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.67 seconds.
For the Titan women, sophomore
Selena Thomas (Farrell, PA / Farrell Area) won three events: the 60 (8.18), 200 (27.44), and the long jump (4.88m). Thomas was also the last leg of the first-place 4x200-meter relay team (1:53.85), along with senior
Nicole Cress (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch), junior
Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview), and sophomore
Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic). Cress also finished second in 200 (28.36) and third in the 60 (8.42). Belding also finished first in the 400 (1:02.68) and third in the 200-meter dash (28.48). Junior
Jay'Kayla Samuels (Farrell, PA / Farrell) finished first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.62.
Westminster will next compete at Mount Union in Alliance, OH Saturday, February 2.
