MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Westminster College pole vaulters competed in West Virginia University's Marty Pushkin Track Classic on Friday.
Titan junior
Tim Maxwell (Washington, PA / McGuffey) placed second in the men's pole vault with a jump of 13'5¼" (4.10m). Junior
Hunter Cox (Clinton, PA / South Side) placed fifth (12' 11½"/3.95m), followed by freshman
Jonathan Micsky (Greenville, PA / Greenville) in sixth with a personal-record jump of the same mark as Cox (who had few attempts).
First-year
Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) finished second in the women's pole vault with a leap of 11'3¾" (3.45m). Senior
Jamie Thompson (Pulaski, PA / New Wilmington) placed seventh with a season-best mark of 10'10" (3.30m). Rounding out the Titan vaulters were first-year
Abigail Westcott (Edinburg, PA / Mohawk Area) (11
th/9'10") and sophomore
Julia Strobel (New Castle, PA / Wilmington Area) (12
th/8'10¼").
Westminster will next compete in the SPIRE Invitational in Geneva, Ohio on Saturday, Jan. 19.
