Men’s Basketball: Titans Fall at Home to Defending PAC Champion Saint Vincent

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 69-37, to Saint Vincent College Saturday inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

With the loss, Westminster falls to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in the PAC. With the win, Saint Vincent improves to 8-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

The Bearcats, up 19-15 with 5:41 remaining in the first half, outscored the Titans 10-2 in the remainder of the frame to take a 29-17 halftime lead.

The Titans came out of the locker room with a 10-4 run to cut Saint Vincent's lead to 33-27 with 16:31 on the clock. The Bearcats responded with an 8-0 run to take a 41-27 lead with 14:29 remaining and maintained the double-digit lead for rest of the contest.

Westminster sophomore Matt Getsy (Mars, PA / Mars) scored a team-high 12 points. Freshman Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) added eight points and a team-high six rebounds. Freshman Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) tied a game-high with a team-high four assists. Junior Paul Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) added five points.

Saint Vincent out-shot Westminster 53.8% (28-52) to 28.0% (14-50) and out-rebounded the Titans 43-22.

The Titans are back in action Wednesday when they play at PAC foe Grove City College with a start time of 7:30 p.m.
