Introductory press conference for David Richards announced

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--David Richards, a 2009 Westminster College graduate, was announced as the head coach of the men's basketball program on April 22. Coach Richards will be formally introduced on Thursday, May 1 at 3 p.m. in the Maple Room, located in the McKelvey Campus Center.

Media members, along with campus and community members, are invited to attend. In additional to Richards, the event will feature remarks from Westminster President Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson and Director of Athletics Jason Lener '93.

A New Castle, Pa. native, Richards returns to his alma mater after completing seven seasons as the head coach at Chatham University, going 120-56 (.682) and winning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament titles in 2019, 2023 and 2025. He was voted the PAC's Coach of the Year following the 2023 and 2025 seasons.

Richards will be available to media following the conclusion of the press conference.
