WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's basketball team had its largest victory under third-year head coach Kevin Siroki ('93) on Wednesday night in the Titans' 92-50 win at Washington & Jefferson College.
The Titans made a season-high 15 three-point field goals (15-27), led by sophomore Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) and freshman Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) who each made four three-pointers.
W&J (1-16, 0-8 PAC) got within five points (23-18) of the Titans' lead with 8:58 on the clock in the first half. That would be as close as the Presidents would get for the remainder of the game as Westminster (5-12, 2-6 PAC) finished the half with a 24-2 run to take a 47-20 halftime lead. The Titans continued its dominant offensive performance in the second half and led by as much as 44 points twice.
Five Titans scored in double-figures led by Pilarski with a season-high 18 points. Sophomore Matt Getsy (Mars, PA / Mars) (17), freshman Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) (16), Domenick (12), and junior Paul Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) (10) also scored in double-digits for Westminster.
Scott registered his fifth double-double of the season as he led on the glass with a game-high 11 rebounds. Domenick dished-out a game-high seven assists, while junior Charlie Wallander (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) had four. Carswell added eight boards.
The Titans out-shot the Presidents 54.0% (34-63) to 33.9% (20-59) and out-rebounded W&J 46-25.
Westminster will take the weekend off and will return to the court next Wednesday, January 28, when it travels to Waynesburg University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
