BEREA, Ohio - By giving up more goals than it did in its previous seven games combined, the Westminster College women's soccer team lost 4-2 at Baldwin-Wallace Saturday in a nonconference game. The Titans, whose four wins and one tie came via shutouts, fall to 4-3-1 on the season. The Yellow Jackets improve to 5-5.
Baldwin-Wallace led 1-0 at halftime after Angie Wigton scored off a corner kick rebound in the 22nd minute for her third goal of the season.
The Yellow Jackets' lead swelled to 3-0 early in the second half from a 51st-minute goal by Lindsey Cooper and a 52nd-minute tally off the foot of Brigitte Petrash.
Westminster answered quickly when senior forward Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) scored 21 seconds later from 25 yards out. Nee's goal was her eighth goal of the season and the 44th of her career to move her into a fourth-place tie on Westminster's career goals chart with Katie Krone (1999-2002).
After B-W's Rachel Gokey scored in the 55th minute to put the Yellow Jackets up 4-1, before Westminster netted a late goal in the 73rd minute from junior midfielder Brittany Grabski (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), her second of the season.
Westminster was playing the game without injured goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) who has five shutouts this season. Instead, freshman Maura Miglioretti (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) saw her first action in goal and made seven saves while giving up four goals and facing 17 shots.
Caitlin Sutter made eight saves in goal for Baldwin-Wallace.
Westminster returns to action at Juniata Wednesday at 4 p.m.
