Six named to CSC Academic All-District squad

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Six members of Westminster College's women's soccer program were named 2025 Academic All-District® team selections Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Seniors Amanda Lewis (Slippery Rock, Pa., Slippery Rock)Chloe Lindquist (Ogden, Utah, Ogden)Emma Maloberti (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley)Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) and Alena Taladay (Ford City, Pa., Armstrong), along with sophomore Brooke Galcik (Saxonburg, Pa., Knoch), were all recognized.

Lewis (2023) and Murphy (2024) are both two-time Academic All-District® selections. 

Lewis, a forward, carries a 3.57 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). She appeared in 51 career matches (31 starts), totaling 10 goals and 10 assists. She was named Honorable Mention All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) earlier this month and earned a spot on the PAC All-Tournament team in 2023. Lewis has been named to the Dean's List twice and was named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll once. She is currently serving as treasurer of the College's Council for Exceptional Children chapter and will graduate in May with a degree in accounting, marketing and professional sales. 

A forward, Lindquist owns a 3.85 cumulative GPA. She started all 17 matches last fall and scored her first collegiate goal at Lycoming on Sept. 9. A transfer from Puget Sound, Lindquist has been named to the Dean's List five times. She will graduate in May with a degree in professional communication and leadership. 

Maloberti, a midfielder, has appeared in 56 career matches (49 starts) and was named Honorable Mention All-PAC for the second-straight year earlier this month. She carries a 3.92 cumulative GPA. A six-time Dean's List selection, Maloberti has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll three times. She has served as President of the Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, Vice President of Rituals for the Lambda Sigma Honor Society and Vice President of the Psychology Club and has also worked as a Project Manager with the College's SPARK Club, a student-led branch of The Smile Project, whose mission is to teach people about positivity and the importance of a smile. Last summer, she was one of six students selected by the College's Drinko Center for Undergraduate Research for a Summer Research Fellowship, working alongside Dr. Shannon Smithey in Political Science and Dr. Jamie Chapman in Criminal Justice Studies. She will graduate in May with a psychology and criminal justice studies degree.

Murphy, a goalkeeper, was named Honorable Mention All-PAC earlier this month, claiming all-conference honors for the fourth time in her career (First Team All-PAC 2022, 2023, 2024). She is also a two-time All-Region First Team selection. Murphy, a member of the All-College Honors Program, is a four-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the P-A-C Academic Honor Roll twice. She maintains a 3.70 cumulative GPA. She was a recipient of the School of Businesses' Ann M. Kendlehart Scholarship Award, created to recognize and reward academic achievement and potential in students majoring in accounting, business, and economics, last spring. Murphy started all 17 matches this season and finished with 93 saves and three shutouts, averaging 1.48 goals per game (GAA). She claimed United Soccer Coaches All-America honors in December 2023, securing a spot on the Third Team. In 69 career starts, Murphy finished with a 39-22-7 record while sporting a 1.12 GAA, an .830 save percentage and 16 shutouts.

A defender, Taladay appeared in 33 career matches and made 30 career starts. She was named to the PAC All-Tournament Team in 2024. Taladay owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA. She is a six-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll once. She is a member of the Lambda Sigma and Pi Sigma Pi Honor Societies, is President of the College's Council for Exceptional Children chapter and serves as chairperson for the College's annual Lawrence County Special Olympics event. Taladay is a recipient of the Jerb Miller Scholarship, Clara E. Cockerille Scholarship and the McQuiston Outstanding Service Award. She will graduate in May with a degree in early childhood and special education. 

Galcik, a midfielder, owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a biochemistry major. A transfer from Waynesburg, she appeared in 17 matches and made a pair of starts, finishing with two goals and an assist. She scored her first career goal at Thiel on Oct. 22. 

Westminster wrapped up its season with a 3-9-5 overall record and a PAC record of 3-5-3.
