PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Senior forward Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) scored all three goals in the Westminster's women's soccer team's season opener Wednesday as the Titans shut out La Roche, 3-0, in non-conference action.
Nee's hat trick is the third of her career as she now has 39 career goals. All of her goals came in the first half on assists from junior defender Tyler Dever (Salt Lake City, Utah/Highland), junior midfielder Brittany Grabski (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) and freshman forward Kristen Koontz (New Paris, Pa./Chestnut Ridge), respectively.
Westminster outshot the Redhawks, 16-6, as sophomore goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) made six saves for the Titans.
Westminster (1-0) hosts Oberlin Friday at 5 p.m. before hosting Pitt-Johnstown Saturday at noon. La Roche is now 0-1 on the season.
