NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team won its season-high third straight game to end the regular season with a 64-56 win at home over Grove City on Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. Westminster (11-14, 8-6 PAC) will be the fourth seed in next week's PAC tournament and will host Waynesburg on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Grove City, the third seed in the tournament with a home game vs. Bethany on Tuesday, falls to 12-13 overall and 8-6 in the league
Sophomore forward Emily Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) set a new career high with 19 points to lead Westminster. She also raked in a game-high 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season, while also posted a career-high five steals.
Her older sister, senior Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) scored 14 points to go with a team-high five assists. Junior point guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) also bucketed 14 points, a season high and two shy of her career best.
Megan Gebrosky led the Wolverines with 18 points, followed by Leah Gibson with 17.
Westminster shot 41.7 percent (20-48) from the floor, compared to Grove City at 31.8 percent (21-66). The Titans committed 22 turnovers to Grove City's 13, but the Titans held the edge in rebounds, 45-36.
Grove City's last lead of the game was 14-11 with 8:26 remaining in the first half. The Titans then went on an 8-0 run before leading 31-23 at halftime. In the second half, Westminster held its largest lead of 11 points on five occasions, including 60-49 with 4:26 left after going on another 8-0 run which propelled the Titans from a 3-point lead three minutes earlier.
