Calcamuggio earns PAC Newcomer of the Week award

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster freshman Bella Calcamuggio (Sylvania, Ohio, Notre Dame) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week Monday afternoon.

It is Calcamuggio's first career conference weekly award.

Calcamuggio averaged 6.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last week in a pair of come-from-behind victories for Westminster. In Wednesday's 61-56 win at Hiram she drilled a clutch three-pointer with just over 11 seconds left in regulation to seal the win, finishing with five points, five assists and a career-high eight rebounds, before totaling seven points and five assists in Saturday's 67-65 win over Bethany. She assisted on sophomore Katie Grexa's (Hartford, Ohio, Badger) game-winner against the Bison.

A starter in all 23 games this year, Calcamuggio is averaging 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She's scored in double digits four times this season.

Westminster will host longtime rival Grove City (15-8, 9-5 PAC) Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Winners of three of their last four, the Wolverines cruised to a 75-46 win over Waynesburg Saturday.
