Women's Soccer: Titans' Season Ends with Loss at W&J in PAC Finals

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The fourth-seeded Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 3-0, at second-seeded Washington & Jefferson in championship game of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tournament on Saturday. The Presidents scored all three goals in the second half to claim the league title and earn an automatic bid in the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Westminster finishes its season with a 10-10-2 record, while W&J improves 14-5-1.

Holly Shipley was the hero for W&J as she scored the first two goals of the second half, including one that bounced off the cross bar in the 46th minute and another off a tight angle from the right side in the 50th minute. Dawn Murphy assisted on both goals.

Shipley assisted on the final goal by Chrissy Marcius in the 60th minute.

Westminster senior goalkeeper Lindsay Moyer (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) made six saves, while W&J keeper Stephanie Saussol stopped four shots for the shutout.

W&J outshot Westminster, 12-8.

In the teams' regular season meeting at Westminster, W&J also scored three goals in a 3-1 win after the Titans led 1-0 at halftime.
