WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team won its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener on Saturday at Waynesburg, 3-0.
The Titans improve to 8-3 on the season and 1-0 in the PAC. Waynesburg drops to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Westminster's first two goals were identical in the scoring column as junior forward Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) scored twice on two assists from junior Kristin Kajari (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) in the 15th and 26th minutes.
Sophomore Amanda Embry (Exton, Pa./Downington East) made the score 3-0 with a 38th minute goal from junior Danielle Struble (Curwensville, Pa./Curwensville).
Nee now leads the team with eight goals on the season. Embry's goal was her first of the season and second of her career.
Freshmen Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) and Amanda Hummer (Wilmington, N.C./John T. Hoggard) combined for the shutout with four and two saves, respectively, in each half.
Westminster hosts Thomas More Sunday at 1 p.m.
