Women's Soccer: Nee Scores 12th Goal in Titans' Loss at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team lost just its fifth game of the season Saturday as the Titans absorbed a 3-1 loss at Washington & Jefferson in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game.

Westminster falls to 12-5-1 on the season and 3-2 in the PAC, while W&J improves to 8-6-2 overall and 3-2 in the league.

All of the scoring took place in the second half. Westminster junior Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) scored on an assist from sophomore Samantha Killmeyer (Medina, Ohio/Highland) to tie the game at 1-1 in the 55th minute, after W&J's Spencer Ahrenholtz opened the scoring in the 51st minute.

Nee's goal is her team-high 12th of the season.

Tiffany Sherred scored the game-winning goal in the 57th minute before she also added an insurance goal in the 61st minute to put the game away.

W&J held a 19-12 shot advantage. Presidents goalkeeper Stephanie Saussol made five saves for the win, while Titan freshman Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) stopped 11 shots.

Westminster hosts Bethany on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
