Women's Soccer: Titans Overwhelm Chatham in PAC Finale

PITTSBURGH - The Westminster College women's soccer team all but ensured a home game in next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament after the Titans throttled Chatham, 10-0, on the road Saturday.

Westminster finishes its regular season with a 14-3-2 overall record and a 5-1-1 mark in the PAC. Chatham drops to 1-15-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the league.

The Titans needed a win over Chatham and a greater goal differential than Washington & Jefferson in the Presidents' game vs. Waynesburg on Saturday night to secure at least a No. 2 seed in the PAC Tournament. The official pairings will be announced Monday.

Senior forward Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) increased her PAC-leading goal total to 20 goals with her sixth career three-goal game and her third hat trick of the season. Adams scored goals in the eighth minute on a penalty kick and two other goals in the 12th and 17th minutes which gave Westminster leads of 1-0, 3-0 and 5-0.

Adams' 20 goals this season are the fifth most all-time for a Westminster women's soccer player.

Sophomore Danielle Struble (Curwensville, Pa./Curwensville) doubled her career goal total with two goals in the 54th and 61st minutes. Struble also assisted on two goals to give her a career-high six points in the game.

Freshman forward Samantha Killmeyer (Medina, Ohio/Highland), the national leader in assists, set the school record for assists in a season with three during the game. Killmeyer assisted on Adams' second goal which made the score 3-0 while also assisting on Struble's two goals.

Killmeyer now has 19 assists this season, surpassing Tammy Newell's mark of 16 in 2001 for the single-season record at Westminster. Killmeyer finished the game with five points as she also scored her eighth goal of the season in the 14th minute.

Other goal-scorers in the game included freshman Brittany Grabski (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) with her first career goal in the 41st minute that gave the Titans a 6-0 halftime lead. Freshman Kelli Michanowicz (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) scored her second career goal in the 48th minute as did freshman Eliza Gibbs (Holladay, Utah/Highland) in the 74th minute.

Westminster held a 36-2 shot advantage.
