NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - After having exactly one week off, the Westminster College women's soccer team shook off a two-match losing streak to capture a 2-0 win over Saint Vincent at home Saturday.
The Titans improve to 6-2-2 on the season, while Saint Vincent drops to 4-4-2.
Senior Kristen Martin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) scored on a cross from junior midfielder Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) to give the Titans an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.
Senior forward Mallory Bugel (Valencia, Pa./Mars) added a late insurance goal on an assist from freshman Hannah Schade (Timberlake, Ohio/Villa Angela-St. Joseph).
Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Melott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview) secured her third shutout of the season while making just one save and facing six shots. The Titan offense compiled 23 shots.
Westminster returns to action at Geneva Monday at 5 p.m.
