BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team shut out an opponent for the seventh time this season with a 6-0 non-conference win at Geneva Monday night. The Titans improve to 7-2-2 on the season while the Golden Tornadoes drop to 2-9.
Junior midfielder Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) scored a hat trick with three goals on the seven shots, including the game's first goal in the 19th minute followed by the final two goals in the 48th and 78th minutes. Adams now has a team-high seven goals and 46 shots on the season.
The other Westminster goal-scorers were senior forward Mallory Bugel (Valencia, Pa./Mars) in the 23rd minute, freshman forward Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) in the 31st minute, and junior defender Jessi Losteter (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) in the 45th minute.
Sophomore goalkeepers Lindsey Mellott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview) and Christine Clawges (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) split time in net for Westminster with one a two saves, respectively.
The Titans travel to Thiel Thursday for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
