WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team won a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Washington & Jefferson, 3-0, Wednesday.
The Titans' ninth shutout of the season lifts their record to 9-2-2 and 2-0 in the PAC, while the Presidents drop to 4-8-2 and 0-2 in the league.
Junior midfielder Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) and sophomore forward Lauren Graeser (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) each had a goal and two assists for Westminster.
Adams scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the sixth minute on an assist from Graeser, before Adams returned the favor for Graeser's fifth goal of the year in the 14th minute. Both Adams and Graeser assisted on freshman Sarah Nee's (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) goal in the 78th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Mellott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview) was phenomenal in net for the Titans, making eight saves in her fifth shutout of the season as W&J out-shot the Titans, 16-11.
Westminster returns to action Friday at home against Bethany beginning at 3 p.m.
