ERIE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team lost 1-0 in double overtime against host Penn State Behrend in first round of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament on Friday.
The Titans (2-2-1) surrendered the game-winning goal in the 108th minute when Penn State Behrend's Nikki Frisbee scored on an assist from Brittany Barbato.
Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Mellott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview) absorbed the loss in net after making seven saves. The Lions' Kayla Frost registered the win by making five saves.
The Lions (2-1-1) out-shot the Titans, 15-14, including 4-1 in the second overtime. Senior forward Christa Andamasaris (West Farmington, Ohio/Champion) led Westminster with four shots.
Westminster returns to action at Behrend when it plays Calvin at 2 p.m.
