NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team advanced to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championships match with a 1-0 win over visiting Grove City in Wednesday's semifinal match.
The second-seeded Titans (13-5-1) defeated the third-seeded Wolverines (9-7-2) and will play the winner of the Wednesday evening's semifinal match between No. 1 Thomas More and No. 4 Washington & Jefferson. The PAC title match will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. at the site of the highest seeded remaining team.
Westminster struck earlier in its semifinal match as junior Kait Etzel-Hardman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) scored the only goal on a corner kick by senior Christa Andamasaris (West Farmington, Ohio/Champion) just 3:36 into the match.
Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Mellott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview) made just four saves to register the shutout, her fourth of the season.
The Titans out-shot the Wolverines 22-8.
