NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team shutout Waynesburg Saturday, 3-0, for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win.
The Titans (12-5-1, 5-1 PAC) scored all three of their goals in the first 17 minutes. Westminster outshot the Yellow Jackets (5-11-1, 1-5 PAC) by a count of 21-3.
Sophomore Abby Montgomery (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) opened the scoring on an assist from junior Mallory Bugel (Valencia, Pa./Mars) in the fifth minute.
Bugel then scored an unassisted goal in the 13th minute before sophomore Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) netted her team-high 12th goal of the season and the match's final goal on an assist from senior Christa Andamasaris (West Farmington, Ohio/Champion) in the 17th minute.
With 15 assists this season, Bugel is now one assist shy of tying the school record for assists in a season.ÂÂ
Second-seeded Westminster hosts third-seeded Grove City Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. in the first round of the PAC tournament.
