Women's Soccer: Scoring Punch Returns for Titans in 6-1 Win at Bethany Wednesday

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Westminster College women's soccer team returned to form by throttling Bethany, 6-1, Wednesday on the road in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. The Titans were shutout in their previous two matches, but their high-scoring offense that averaged nearly five goals per game during an eight-match stretch earlier in the season returned Wednesday at Bethany.

Sophomore midfielder Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) and junior midfielder Kait Etzel-Hardman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) each scored two goals to lead the way for the Titans.

Etzel-Hardman, who scored the opening goal in the 21st minute, registered five points during the match as she assisted on a goal by freshman Lauren Graeser (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) in the 36th minute.

Junior forward Mallory Bugel (Valencia, Pa./Mars) scored her 10th goal of the season as she and Adams are tied for the team lead.

Bethany's Jen Burin scored the Bison's lone goal in the 54th minute.

The Titans outshot the Bison 35-6, including Etzel-Hardman attempting a match-high seven shots.

Westminster (11-5-1, 4-1 PAC) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 28, for its last regular season match at home against Waynesburg for a 2 p.m. start. Bethany falls to 4-11-1 on the season and 2-4 in the PAC.
