Men's golf competes at Grove City's M-B-A Invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa.--The Westminster men's golf team competed at Grove City's McBride-Behringer-Allen (MBA) Invitational Monday afternoon at the Grove City Country Club. 

Marietta won the 14-team event with a score of 305. Washington & Jefferson's 'A' and 'B' teams finished second and third, respectively, with scores of 307 and 318. Westminster finished tied for 10th (339). 

Freshman Brody Pirt (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) finished tied for 21st with an 80. Junior Tyler Hager (Lehighton, Pa., Palmerton) finished in a seven-way tie for 29th (82) and freshman Aiden Barker (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) finished tied for 46th (85) with six other competitors. Junior Nate Covey (Sarver, Pa., Freeport) and freshman Connor Ealy (Butler, Pa., Moniteau) finished in a five-way tie for 73rd (92) while senior Joshua Furman (Jefferson, Ohio, Jefferson) tied for 81st (94).

Senior Nicholas Vitale (New Castle, Pa., Union) and sophomore Zach Livosky (Poland, Ohio, Poland Seminary) competed as individuals. Vitale finished in a four-way tie for 62nd (88) and Livosky tied for 88th (100). 

Up next:
Westminster will compete at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Spring Championships Friday and Saturday. Hosted by Mill Creek Metroparks, the final two rounds of the conference championships will take place in Boardman, Ohio at the Mill Creek Golf Course (South Course). Rounds are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. each day.
