Titans finish sixth at PAC Championships

BOARDMAN, Ohio--The Westminster men's golf team finished sixth at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Saturday at the Mill Creek Golf Course.

The final two rounds of the 72-hole championship event were played on Mill Creek's South Course. The PAC's 36-hole fall event was hosted by the Avalon Golf & Country Club in Warren, Ohio. The men played two rounds at Avalon Lakes in Warren.

Allegheny won its third-straight team title, posting a four-round score of 1203 after its 294 on Saturday. Washington & Jefferson was second (1225) and Grove City was third (1241). Westminster concluded its four-round championship run with a 1267 after combining for a 316 on Saturday.

Grove City's Luke Gronbeck earned PAC Player of the Year honors after finishing his four championship rounds with a 292. 

Junior Tyler Hager (Lehighton, Pa., Palmerton) followed up Friday's 74 with a 76 on Saturday to finish his four rounds with a 296, good for third place. It is second-straight year finishing third at the league championships. 

Freshmen Brody Pirt (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) and Aydan Gross (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) were 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Pirt finished with a four-round score of 320, following Friday's 84 with a 78 Saturday. Gross finished with a 322, cading a 78 Saturday after Friday's round of 85. Senior Joshua Furman (Jefferson, Ohio, Jefferson) finished 33rd with 341. He shot an 84 Friday and an 89 Saturday. Junior Jonathan Haddox (Bethel Park, Pa., Bethel Park) finished the two spring championship rounds with a 166, following Friday's 80 with an 86 on Saturday.
