Rambo named PAC Field Athlete of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) was named a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Tuesday afternoon.

Rambo, named the league's field athlete of the week, was lauded as the conference's field athlete of the week once during the indoor season. This is her fourth weekly citation during the outdoor season.

Rambo was a double-winner last Saturday at West Virginia's Marty Pushkin Invitational, claiming both the discus and the shot put. Rambo topped the 25-thrower discus field with a mark of 40.19 meters (131-10). She led the 25-thrower shot put field with a top mark of 12.41 meters (40-08.75). Last Friday at the Stark County Challenge, hosted by Mount Union, Rambo won the shot put with a throw of 12.77 meters (41-10.75). Friday's mark in the shot put tops the league's performance while her mark in the discus Saturday is No. 2 on the list.

Westminster is scheduled to split its team Friday and Saturday to compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational and the Tim Weaver Invitational, hosted by West Liberty.
