Cespedes earns PAC Defensive Player of the Week award

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster senior Isabella Cespedes (Merrick, N.Y., Sanford H. Calhoun) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

Cespedes earned the league's defensive player of the week award once in 2025.

Cespedes totaled 10 ground balls and six caused turnovers last week for 2-0 Westminster. She finished with four ground balls and three caused turnovers in Wednesday's 11-10 win over Point Park before setting the program's all-time record in caused turnovers during Saturday's 23-0 shutout of Geneva. Cespedes finished with six ground balls and three caused turnovers against Geneva, giving her 113 in 57 career games played. She added two goals, an assist and four draw controls. It was the first two-goal game of her career.

Westminster will travel to Latrobe Wednesday to take on Saint Vincent (5-1, 1-0 PAC). The opening draw from UPMC Field is set for 7 p.m.
