Westminster falls to Grove City in PAC Championship Tournament semifinal

GROVE CITY, Pa.--The Westminster women's lacrosse team suffered a 17-4 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament semifinal loss to top-seeded Grove City Thursday night at Don Lyle Field. 

Westminster, the tournament's No. 4 seed, advanced to the semifinal round with a 19-2 quarterfinal victory against No. 5 Bethany Tuesday. The Titans finished the year with a 10-8 record. Grove City (15-3) will host No. 2 Chatham, a 13-12 winner over No. 3 W&J in the championship's other semifinal, on Saturday. 

Senior Julia Ravazza (Twain Harte, Calif., Dublin) finished with a pair of goals, two ground balls and two draw controls. Senior Chloe Courinos (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) had one goal while senior Isabella Cespedes (Merrick, N.Y., Sanford H. Calhoun) finished with one goal, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Senior Michaela Neelin (Henrietta, N.Y., Rush Henrietta) had two ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. 

Grove City outshot Westminster 33-10 and had the advantage in shots on goal, 23-9. Grove City went 25-of-27 on clears while Westminster went 17-of-32. Grove City won 13 draw controls to Westminster's nine.
