Kovell named PAC Newcomer of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster freshman Zach Kovell (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Outdoor Track and Field Newcomer of the Week Tuesday afternoon.

Kovell was named the league's newcomer of the week once (Feb. 17) during the Titans' indoor season.

Kovell finished 11th in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 22.31 seconds at last weekend's Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. He also ran the second leg of Westminster's seventh-place 4x100-meter relay (43.59).

Up next:
Westminster will split its team Friday-Saturday, March 27-28 to compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational and the Tim Weaver Invitational, hosted by West Liberty.
