Rambo wins shot put at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa.--Senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) won the shot put at Susquehanna's River Hawk Friday Night Showdown. 

The event was held inside the Robert I. Estill Field House.

Rambo topped the 41-competitor field with a mark of 12.29 meters (40-04.00) on her fifth throw. She also registered a fourth-place finish in the weight throw (13.26m, 43-06). 

Freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) was the runner-up in the 800 with a time of 2:29.42 while junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished third in the 60 with a season-best time of 8.16 and fourth in the 200 (27.71). 

Senior Monica Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa., Harbor Creek) finished eighth in the mile (5:53.53) while freshman Natalie Weiland (Mars, Pa., North Catholic) was seventh in the 400 (1:05.95). She also finished ninth in the preliminaries of the 60 (8.91). Senior Abigail Painter (Ligonier, Pa., Ligonier Valley) was 10th in the preliminaries of the 60 (8.95).

The Titans' 4x400-meter 'A' relay finished in second place with a time of 4:28.02. Relay members included senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell), Puhala, Weiland and Zendron. 

Up next:
Westminster is scheduled to compete at the Youngstown State Last Chance, presented by Southwoods Health, next Friday. Events inside the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) will get underway at 3 p.m.
