Rambo wins shot put

WARREN, Ohio--Westminster senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) won the shot put Saturday at the WGH PAC Tuneup, which was held inside the Warren City Schools Student Recreation and Wellness Center at Warren G. Harding High School. 

Rambo topped the 13-competitor field with a throw of 10.18 meters (33-04.75). She also posted a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.97 seconds. 

Junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished second in the 60 meters with a time of 8.22 while freshman Gabby Armlin (Middleburg, N.Y., Middleburg Central) was second in the 3000 meters (13:10.75). Freshman Natalie Weiland (Mars, Pa., North Catholic) was third in the 200 (28.51) and senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) was fifth in the 60 hurdles (10.18).

Westminster's 4x400-meter 'A' relay finished in second place with a time of 4:14.45. Members of the relay were Zendron, Weiland, Essey and freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway). It is the No. 2 time on the league's performance list and ranks ninth all-time in program history. 

Friday at The Vault Shack in Volant, senior Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School) tied for second in the pole vault, clearing a career-best 3.69 meters (12-01.25). It is the No. 2 mark in the PAC this season. Sophomore Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) and freshman Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa., Butler) tied for fourth (3.54m, 11-07.25). 

Up next:
Westminster will compete at the PAC Indoor Championships on Thursday, Feb. 26. The Titans were runners-up at the 16-event championship a year ago. Events are scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m. inside Youngstown State's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
