McClain wins 200 IM, 1000 in PAC dual meet loss at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa.--Junior Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) posted a pair of first-place swims Saturday in Westminster's 162-100 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet loss to Saint Vincent Saturday afternoon inside the Frank and Elizabeth Resnik Pool.

McClain won the 200 IM in 2:20.63 and 1000 in 11:18.11 and scored a runner-up finish in the 500 (5:30.99). Freshman Nina Nappo (Columbiana, Ohio, Columbiana) won the 200 butterfly in 2:28.92 and finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:06.92) and third in the 200 IM (2:25.48).

The Titans opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay, finishing with a time of 2: 03.55 . Relay members were freshman Olivia Schrock (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield), Nappo, Brianna Reinhart (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Allegheny) and Rachel Rospierski (Erie, Pa., Fairview).

Reinhart was second in the 100 freestyle (59.78) and the 200 butterfly (2:32.44) while Schrock finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:25.46) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:07.50). Junior Annabelle Turner (Butler, Pa., Butler) was second in the 200 freestyle (2:16.25) and sophomore Avery O'Sullivan (Washington, Pa., Trinity) finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:27.91) and 200 backstroke (2:37.33). Rospierski was third in the 50 freestyle (26.99) and freshman Madison Alessio (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) was third in the 200 freestyle (2:20.26).

Westminster concluded the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:53.18). Members of the relay included sophomore Daphne Gindlesperger (McKean, Pa., General McLane), Alessio, Reinhart and McClain.

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Grove City Thursday. The final dual meet of the year is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.
