Rock wins pole vault at Mount Union

Rambo fifth in shot put at YSU

ALLIANCE, Ohio--Freshman Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa., Butler) won the pole vault at the Jim Wuske Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Mount Union, while senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) finished fifth in the shot put at Youngstown State's Mid-Major Invitational, presented by Southwoods Health, Saturday afternoon.

Rock cleared 3.73 meters (12-02.75) to win the 16-competitor pole vault event at Mount Union. Rambo, participating in the Elite shot put event at YSU, registered a top throw of 12.51 meters (41-00.50). She was the top Division III finisher in the event. Rambo also finished 16th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles (10.31).

At Mount Union, sophomore Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) finished as the runner-up in the pole vault (3.48m, 11-05.00) and was fifth in the high jump (1.55m, 5-01). Freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) was eighth in the pole vault (2.83m, 09-03.75) and the shot put (10.81m, 35-05.75) while junior Molly Gibson (Leetonia, Ohio, Leetonia) finished eighth in the weight throw (11.86m, 38-11).

At Youngstown State, junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished 31st in the 400 (1:02.17) and 71st in the 200 (27.72). Freshman Laneah Degn (Kingman, Ariz., Lee Williams) was 33rd in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 9.45 meters (31-00.00) while freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) finished 37th in the 800 with a personal-best time of 2:29.10 and 53rd in the 400 (1:05.08). Freshman Callie Reaugh (Blairsville, Pa., River Valley) finished 42nd in the 5000 with a personal-best time of 21:39.22.

Up next:
Westminster is scheduled to participate in Susquehanna's River Hawk Friday Night Showdown next week. Events will get underway at 3 p.m.
