Treharne wins pole vault at SPIRE

GENEVA, Ohio--Senior Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School) scored a first-place finish in the pole vault Saturday at the Midwest Collegiate Invitational, hosted by SPIRE. 

Treharne cleared a career-best 3.60 meters (11-09.75) to top the 13-competitor leaderboard. It is No. 3 mark in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this season. 

Freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) finished 12th in the shot put (10.65m, 34-11.25) while freshman Jessica Barger (Blairsville, Pa., River Valley) was18th in the weight throw (11.01m, 36-01.50). Freshman Callie Reaugh (Blairsville, Pa., River Valley) was 17th in the 5000 (21:53.90) and freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) was 17th in the 800 (2:32.22).

Junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished 20th in the 400 (1:02.95) and junior Molly Gibson (Leetonia, Ohio, Leetonia) was 20th in the weight throw (10.73, 35-02.50). Senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) was 20th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles (10.33).

Westminster concluded the event with a 10th-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay (4:26.02). Relay members included Zendron, Essey, Puhala and sophomore Alexis Lefoer (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield). It stands as the top time on the league's performance list this year. 

Up Next:
Westminster will compete in the two-day Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational next Friday and Saturday. Events will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
