Westminster seventh at PAC Championships

NEW CASTLE, Pa.--The Westminster College men's cross country program finished in seventh place at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Saturday afternoon at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. 

Saint Vincent College's Tim Patterson won the 112-runner individual event with a time of 25 minutes, 35.10 seconds. Franciscan University edged Geneva College by a single point, 67-68, for the team title. Saint Vincent was third (70). Westminster finished with 235 points. 

Senior Dane Fasick (New Brighton, Pa., New Brighton) led the Titans, finishing 43rd with a time of 28:30.20. Freshman Josh Gilberti (McDonald, Pa., South Fayette) was 61st (29:46.90) and sophomore Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) finished 64th (29:55.50). Junior Justin Redilla (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) was 82nd (31:08.20), sophomore Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) finished 94th (33:25.10) and sophomore Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) placed 99th (33:53.00). Freshman Alec Geer (Brookville, Pa., Brookville) finished 107th (39:08.20) and sophomore Hamilton Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort LeBoeuf) was 112th (54:59.20).

The 10 Division III regional championships are scheduled for Saturday, November 16. Bethany, Chatham, Geneva, Grove City, Saint Vincent, Thiel, W&J, Waynesburg and Westminster will compete in the Mid-Atlantic region, while Allegheny and Franciscan will compete in the Great Lakes region. The Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships will be held at Lock Haven University's West Branch Cross Country Course, while the Division III Great Lakes Championships will be held in Shelbyville, Indiana at Blue River Park. 

This year's Division III Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 at Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. 

Westminster will compete in the Grove City Twilight Friday. The five-kilometer event will be held at Robert E. Thorn Field.
