Shiderly, Rambo repeat winners at PAC Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Senior Lexi Shiderly (New Castle, Pa., Mohawk) and junior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) repeated as title winners at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday. 

The two-day event was again held inside the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park. 

Grove City College won the title at the 11-team championship, finishing with 206 points. Allegheny College was second with 138 and Westminster finished in third place with 131. 

Wrapping up Thursday's events after several weather delays last night, graduate student Breannda Davis (Streetsboro, Ohio, Streetsboro) finished fourth in the triple jump, posting a mark of 10.87 meters (35-08). Friday, she was second in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1 minute, 4.11 seconds, second in the long jump with a top mark of 5.53 meters (18-01), third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.49 seconds, third in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (5-01) and fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.89.

Shiderly won her second-straight title in the shot put with a season-best throw of 12.82 meters (42-00.75). Rambo won the discus for the second-straight year with a top throw of 41.21 meters (135-02). Additionally, she finished third in the shot put with a top throw of 12.19 meters (40-00) and seventh in the javelin with a personal-best mark of 34.11 meters (111-11). 

Westminster's 4x100-meter relay, made up of Davis, junior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell), senior Erin Fosgreen (Jackson, N.J., Jackson Memorial) and sophomore Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau), was second with a season-best time of 50.18. 

Zedron raced to a second-place finish in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 56.99, was third in the 200 meters with a time of 26.64 ad eighth in the 100 with a time of 14.07. Freshman Brooke Gecina (Aurora, Ohio, Aurora) posted a pair of personal best throws, finishing fourth in the discus with a top mark of 34.16 meters (112-01) and seventh in the shot put with best throw of 11.43 meters (37-06). 

Essey was fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.68. Sophomore Molly Gibson (Leetonia, Ohio, Leetonia) finished seventh in the discus with a top throw of 33.17 meters (108-10) while senior Kaya Skinner (Oil City, Pa., Oil City) was eighth in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 10.41 meters (34-02). 

Westminster's 4x400-meter relay finished up with a fourth-place finish, registering a time of 4:15.16. Squad members included Zendron, sophomore Lily Atwood (Kittanning, Pa., Armstrong), Essey and Fosgreen. 

Up Next:
Westminster will compete at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College, next Thursday in Meadville.
