Rambo, Davis runner-ups at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio--Westminster College junior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) and graduate student Breannda Davis (Streetsboro, Ohio, Streetsboro) each registered runner-up finishes at the University of Mount Union Last Chance Thursday.

Rambo was second in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 13.37 meters (43-10.50) and sixth in the discus with a top throw of 41.92 meters (137-06).

Davis posted a season-best mark in the high jump to finish second, clearing 1.68 meters (5-06). She was also fourth in the long jump with a top mark of 5.52 meters (18-01.50). Davis is one of nine individuals tied for the 11th-best mark in Division III in the high jump.

For each woman's individual event contested at the national championships, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. The final descending-order lists will be posted by 9 a.m. Eastern time on Friday.

The Division III Championships are scheduled for May 22-24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
