Ritzert fifth in javelin at PAC Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Junior Jalen Ritzert (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) snagged a fifth-place finish in the javelin to highlight the opening day of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The two-day event is once again being held at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park.

Through four scored events, defending PAC champion Grove City College tops the team leaderboard with 57 points. Allegheny College is currently second with 35 points. Westminster is in fifth place with four. Due to several weather delays, the 10000 meters will be completed on Friday.

Ritzert finished fifth in the javelin after ripping off a personal-best throw of 50.09 meters (164-04) on his fourth attempt.

Sophomores Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) and Isaiah Dale (Claysville, Pa., McGuffey) earned spots in the final of the 110-meter hurdles on Friday. Mull was second in the preliminaries with a time of 16.09 seconds, while Dale was seventh with a time of 17.80.

Freshman Aaron Hankerson (Reidsville, Ga., Robert Toombs Christian Academy) qualified for Friday's 100 meter final after finishing second in the preliminaries with a time of 10.73.

Friday's events are tentatively scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
