Titans compete at annual invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's outdoor track and field program competed in the College's annual invitational Saturday inside Harold Burry stadium. 

Sophomore Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) headlined Westminster's top finishers, earning runner-up honors in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.77 seconds. He was also seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 22.65. 

Freshman Aaron Hankerson (Reidsville, Ga., Robert Toombs Christian Academy) finished fourth in the 200 with a time of 22.36 while sophomore Isaiah Dale (Claysville, Pa., McGuffey) was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 59.37. Freshman Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) was fifth high jump, clearing 1.94 meters (6-4.50), and junior Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) finished fifth in the 400 hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:00.40.

Freshman Reed Yost (Wattsburg, Pa., Seneca) finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing a personal-best 4.60 meters (15-1.00). Sophomore Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) was eighth in the shot put with a top throw of 13.82 meters (45-4.00). Junior Benjamin White (Warren, Pa., Warren) finished eighth in the 100 with a time of 11.27.

Westminster's 4x100-meter "A" relay posted a winning time of 43.06. Members of the relay included White, Mull, Dale and Hankerson. The 4x400-meter "A" relay finished second with a time of 3:35.34. Mull, Dale, sophomore Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) and sophomore Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) made up the relay. 

Up Next:
Westminster will compete in Slippery Rock University's John Papa Invitational on Thursday. Events are scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m.
