Hankerson posts two top-10 finishes to lead Westminster men at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH--Freshman Aaron Hankerson (Reidsville, Ga., Robert Toombs Christian Academy) posted top-10 finishes in the 100 and 200 meters, respectively, to lead the Westminster College men's outdoor track and field program at this weekend's Carnegie Mellon University Invitational. 

Hankerson was the runner-up in the 100 with a personal-best time of 10.85 seconds. He also finished eighth in the 200 with a personal-best time of 22.02. Both times top the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) performance lists. 

Sophomore Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) finished 10th in the discus with a personal-best throw of 41.35 meters (135-08). Freshman Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) was 11th in the high jump, clearing 1.84 meters (6-00.50), while sophomore Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) finished 11th in the long jump with a top mark of 6.23 meters (20-05.00).

Sophomore Isaiah Dale (Claysville, Pa., McGuffey) was 16th in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 59.77. Friday, sophomore Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) finished 18th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:31.21. Junior Jalen Ritzert (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) was 19th in the pole vault, clearing 3.63 meters (11-10.75). 

Westminster's 4x100-meter 'A' relay finished sixth with a time of 43.13. Relay members included Hankerson, Dale, junior Ben White (Warren, Pa., Warren) and Mull. 

Up Next:
Westminster will participate in the two-day Dave Labor Alumni Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock University, next Friday and Saturday, April 4-5. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
